Meta tests crossposting to Threads, X adds long-form posts, and other social news

There is a lot going on this week! Meta is testing a crossposting feature between Facebook and Threads. This could be annoying, but it also seems like a pretty strategic play to get more Threads traffic. Additionally, Meta is expanding access to Creator Marketplace. X is busy launching long-form articles for their premium users, and Threads is making saved posts available. Let’s dig in.

1. Meta is testing crossposting between Facebook and Threads

Seems pretty straightforward, and like a natural progression to boost Threads.

The company has been spotted testing a cross-posting feature that would allow Facebook users to post to both platforms at the same time, using the same feature that was originally available for cross-posting from Facebook to Instagram.

The company confirmed a limited test has begun, but is restricted to iOS and does not include the EU. The feature will allow users to share both text and link posts from Facebook to Threads, a rep for Meta said.

2. X is launching long-form articles for premium subscribers

This seems ambitious, but could be interesting. Premium subscribers are now able to format entire articles, complete with images, within the X platform.

3. Meta expands access to Creator Marketplace, making it easier to collaborate

  • We’re testing new machine learning-based recommendations that use Instagram data to help brands discover creators who are the best fit for their campaigns.

4. Saved posts are now on Threads
