You may have seen the S1 most recently on “MTV’S Top Pop Group” competing as one of nine groups selected from hundreds across America. Hosted by Mario Lopez of America’s Best Dance Crew and judged by “Destiny’s Child’s” Michelle Williams and Taboo of “The Black Eyed Peas” who said about S1’s performance, “you guys are masters of ceremony, coming from one MC, you guys rocked the hell out of this crowd, son.” S1’s too cool for school joint, “Do It Right” was featured on the show and yet, Kjae, TraXX and Shaydot, don’t have a single hit record, they aren’t a household name, and they haven’t been nominated for any Grammy’s…………..well, not yet. They are just three guys who became brothers under extraordinary circumstances. Originating as an R&B group, today, the group has evolved into a mix of R&B, Hip Hop and Pop. “We don’t really know how to categorize our music so we just call it “Urban Pop,” says Kjae, the lead and only singer in the group. “We make that feel good music”, offers ShayDot the latest member of S1 and part of a high powered team of three talented songwriters, performers and musicians that make S1 a self-contained unit.
