Cary Judd MOOSE, WYOMING   Acoustic / Rock
I could write this in the third person pretending to be an objective writer, but let’s face it: you’ve heard that already. I could describe to you what chocolate tastes like, but wouldn’t it be easier to just put it in your mouth and let it start to melt? Music is the same, please give it a listen, it'll take less time and effort anyway, and you won't have to guess what I mean by a mixture of genre defining adjectives that don't really make sense. I will say that U2, Johnny Cash, The Cure, The Smiths, and the Stone Roses are all big influences on my music, weather or not that will be obvious is subjective to your own experience.

I tour a lot. I did about 120 shows last year, and at least as many the year before. I do a lot of colleges. It makes it possible for me to not have to have any other job. I've done large shows in big arenas opening for more famous people and I've also played in living rooms for 20 people at a time. I find joy in both.

The presentation of my songs in a live venue is a work of dynamics. I utilize whatever technology I can get my hands on to increase the dynamic range of my songs. This includes but is not limited to looping machines, drum machines, computer based sounds and programs, and an array of other effects that broaden the sound I'm capable of as a one, or two man show.

As for my personal history, I was born in a small town in Southern California called Thousand Oaks (it was small 25 years ago), where I stayed during my school years. I now spend my time when I'm not touring in the mountains on the Wyoming/Idaho border. The Teton Mountain Range is not far from here and provides me with a rugged beautiful background to create to.

Music is not necessary to survive, but it does motivate one to desire to survive on a higher plain. I feel this way.

My songs are a combination of my own experiences, experiences of those around me, and occasionally my own works of fiction.

Thanks for taking a minute to get to know my music.
